Monica Hunter

Monica brings nearly 30 years of higher education experience across Student Affairs and Academic Affairs. Monica has been with Virginia Tech since 2006 in various roles. Prior to joining MAOP in 2015, Monica served as the Associate Director of Student Centers & Activities, and Interim Director of Student Activities at Virginia Tech. Before coming to Virginia Tech, Monica was at Radford University as the Director of Multicultural & International Student Services, and Associate Director of Student Activities. Prior to Radford University, Monica served as the Assistant Director for Programs with the Office of Student Life at University of North Carolina, Greensboro. Monica has teaching experience as adjunct faculty in Hospitality Tourism Management at Virginia Tech and University 100 courses at Radford and UNCG.
Monica earned her Master of Science in Counselor Education, Student Personnel Services, and Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Radford University. In her spare time, you can find Monica cheering on her son's baseball team at Concord University or the Hokies on the field, court or diamond!
