Scholarship Support Initiatives
Undergraduate Programs
MAOP offers each of our undergraduate scholars a personalized four-year academic and professional development support plan that is established and implemented during their time at Virginia Tech. While these scholarships alleviate financial burdens, we have found that student engagement through one-on-one meetings, workshops, networking, and experiential opportunities is directly linked to increased academic success.

Summer Programs
What is Undergraduate Research?
Undergraduate research gives students the chance to dive deeply into a topic they care about—often tied to their major or career interests—while working closely with a faculty mentor. At Virginia Tech, summer research participants select their own area of focus and are matched with expert faculty from across the university.
While starting research may feel overwhelming, the MAOP and the Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) are here to guide and support students every step of the way.
