Welcome

The Hokie Summer Scholars Program (HSSP) is a state-funded summer undergraduate research initiative designed to support students with financial need in strengthening academic skills, gaining research experience, and building connections within the Virginia Tech community.

Participants will engage in faculty-led undergraduate research while enrolling in up to 6 credits of coursework that contributes to their degree progress. The program offers a collaborative, immersive learning environment, with students living on campus during the summer session.

In addition to research and coursework, HSSP provides:

  • Guidance on time management, study strategies, and financial literacy
  • Access to campus resources, including tutoring, academic advising, and career support
  • A cohort-based experience, fostering peer and faculty connections both in-person and online

The HSSP is fully funded, covering housing and meals. Participants also receive a stipend for their research involvement during the program.
